Child Consecration - October 8, 2017

October 8th, 2017

Child consecrations at SVA are an opportunity for our pastors to pray blessings over a child and for the church to support parents in their commitment raise their child in the knowlege and love of Christ.

Sign up for the next Child Consecration.

Responsibilities Involved in Child Dedication

When parents consecrate a child, are making a promise to the Lord to raise their child in the the knowlege and love of Christ. They know that someday their child will make a decision on his or her own about whether to pursue a relationship with God. Parents who make this commitment are agreeing to raise their child in the ways of God, and not according to their own ways. Some of the responsibilities include teaching and training the child in God's Word, demonstrating an example of godliness, disciplining according to God's ways, and praying earnestly for the child.
